How to share your location with Google Maps or Messenger

The messaging app "WhatsApp"  This will allow you to share your real-time with real-life friends in real time. Also, since you can show that you are on the move, it is useful for applications such as predicting your arrival time and confirming safety.

This new feature will be installed in iOS and Android versions within the next few weeks. Similarly to other applications, we are deploying sharing services for location information. Let me show you how to share with each application.

Live location sharing on WhatsApp

Some people may already be able to share your location with WhatsApp (I can do it with my smartphone). To do this, open a chat with a friend or group, tap the plus button at the bottom left and select "Location Info" "Share Live Location". Next, you can select the time (15 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours) to share the live location, add comments and send.

Just like Snapchat messages and calls, your location information is protected with end-to-end encryption. It is also possible to "stop sharing" whenever you like.

Share live location on Facebook Messenger

"Facebook Messenger" added the live location sharing function in March. To use this feature, open the message, tap the plus icon, and select the "Location Info" icon (the icon with the blue circle in it). A map will open and you can share real-time location information for 60 minutes. Of course, you can stop sharing anytime.

Live location sharing with Google Maps

"Google Maps" also added the same function this year. Open the application and tap the blue dot which means current location or the menu button on the upper left. Choose 'Sharing your location', you can decide the time to continue sharing.

"Google Maps" can fine-tune the time setting over other applications. In addition to being set in units of 15 minutes, you can also set "to turn off". It's also possible to share location information with people in Google's contacts, not just within the app.

How to use Snapchat map

"Snapchat" introduces its own location information sharing function "map" in June. This function displays Brian's place of friends on semi-live map using Bitmoji. To launch the map, pinch out with two fingers to zoom out on the camera screen.

By setting, you can choose whether you want to show maps to all friends or just a part. There is also a ghost mode that can remain hidden, and location information will only be updated when you open the application. This is a fairly discreet option, so it is unsuitable for those who want to share location information at any time.
